In the midst of a heavy rain on the morning of June 25th, 1863, Commander of the Army of Northern Virginia General R.E. Lee and First Corps commander General Longstreet cross the Potomac river. The Confederate invasion of the North started with great hopes and expectations, but just one week later they would be embroiled in the bloodbath of Gettysburg.
