Spinster’s Speedsters
Giclée on watercolour paper

by Stan Stokes
The beautiful Golden Gate Bridge, which was built during the Great Depression, forms the perfect backdrop for two mid 1930s American Classics; a 1934 LaSalle Series 350 Cabriolet, and a 1936 Auburn 852 Super-charged Cabriolet. A steamer departs the Bay Area for Hawaii on this fogless afternoon in 1937, while two women of substantial means take the time to enjoy the sunshine.
