Custom Framing Service
When choosing a frame for your print there are some decisions to make, the right ones will not only enhance the appearance of your artwork but will also protect it.
Too many fine prints have been ruined by poor framing methods and materials, so we offer only high quality conservation framing. We use only conservation grade materials and methods to ensure a safe environment for the print, and we will work with you to select just the right mat colours and frame choices to suite your taste.
Naturally prices depend on the size of the print and the chosen framing options, but if you're interested in acquiring a fully framed print ready to display, please call us for a quote.
True conservation framing meets the following standards:
The print is not trimmed.
No tape or glue is used to mount the print
Materials coming into contact with the print are acid free, and will not discolour the paper.
Ultra violet filtering glazing is used to prevent fading from exposure to sunlight or fluorescent lighting.
The print can be removed from the frame at a later date maintaining it's original condition.
Most of the above applies to the framing of paper prints, or lithographs. Many of the pieces we offer are giclée prints on canvas,
and these are traditionally framed in the same way as an original painting, i.e. simply mounted in a good quality wooden frame with no mats or glazing. Below are two such pieces, one with a secondary fabric covered liner.
